Information that makes a cable assembly quote usable

A quotation is easier to evaluate when every supplier is working from the same revision, configuration, quantity, and validation scope.

  1. 01

    Drawing, photo, or description

If available, send a drawing, sketch, photo, or short description; a complete drawing or BOM is not required for the first contact.

  2. 02

    Part and mating references

Share connector or mating-part references if known, including any preference for original or unbranded compatible candidates.

  3. 03

    Pinout, wire specification, and length

Add any known pinout, wire or cable type, gauge, finished length, and tolerance details.

  4. 04

    Quantity and application

Give an estimated sample or production quantity if known, and briefly describe the equipment, application, or operating environment.

  5. 05

    Required tests and documents

Flag any known critical application, test, validation, or document requirements early so they can be considered in the scope.

  6. 06

    Delivery destination

Provide the delivery destination and target timing if known. Missing details can be clarified later, with the necessary scope confirmed before samples or production.

Files accepted by the inquiry form

PDF, DWG, STEP, Excel, JPG, or PNG; 3 MB total, up to 5 files

No finished drawing yet?

Start with whatever is available; a complete drawing or BOM is not required for the first contact. Zeakka can help clarify missing details, and the necessary scope will be confirmed before a sample or production.

  • Any current drawing, sketch, photo, or short description
  • Connector or mating-part references, if known
  • Known pinout, wire or cable, length, and tolerance details
  • Estimated quantity and known application, test, document, delivery, or timing needs

Compare the scope, not only the unit price

Before selecting a quotation, check that these items are treated consistently.

  • 1Exact connector and terminal scope
  • 2Wire, jacket, shield, and material specification
  • 3Finished length and tolerance
  • 4Inspection and test scope
  • 5Tooling or special-material charges
  • 6Sample and production timing assumptions
  • 7Packing, delivery terms, freight, and exclusions

Optional quote comparison worksheet

After you receive offers, use this optional worksheet to compare only the items relevant to your cable assembly, such as configuration, testing, one-off charges, and delivery assumptions.

Download worksheet — Excel, English

Editable blank template with no prefilled quotations or prices. You do not need to complete or send this worksheet to contact Zeakka; if you use it, keep or share your copy as you choose.

  1. Set the same drawing revision, configuration and quantities for both quotes.

  2. Record each response and its exclusions. Mark unknown or missing information as ‘To confirm’, not zero or included.

  3. Resolve differences with the suppliers before comparing prices. Record the agreed scope and follow-up owner.

Who confirms what

Your engineering or purchasing team

Approves the final drawing, BOM, pinout, candidate substitutions, validation plan, and equipment-level suitability.

Zeakka

Reviews inputs, flags missing or conflicting details, clarifies quotation scope, and coordinates factory options, samples, and revisions.

Selected factory

Manufactures and tests the confirmed configuration to the agreed project scope and provides the documents agreed for that order.

RFQ checklist questions

Can I request a quote without a drawing?

Yes. Send whatever you have, such as a drawing, photo, connector reference, or short description, plus an estimated quantity if known. A complete drawing or BOM is not required initially. Zeakka can help clarify missing details; share known critical application, test, or document needs early, and confirm the necessary scope before samples or production.

Can the assembly use original JST or Molex connectors?

Yes. Original connectors can be sourced as part of a complete cable assembly, or you can ask us to review an unbranded compatible candidate. Original connectors are not sold separately.

How long does a detailed quotation take?

It typically takes 1–5 business days after the requirements are clear. Complex materials, tooling, or incomplete specifications can require more clarification.

What testing should I state?

Every cable assembly is checked for continuity and short circuits, while pull testing is sampled. State any additional electrical, mechanical, environmental, or documentation requirement so it can be confirmed for the project.
