RFQ

Start with the build information you have

A complete drawing helps, but a useful review can also begin with a BOM, pinout, sample or clear written description.

01

Drawing, BOM, pinout, sample, photos or written build description

02

Specified connector reference, mating interface and circuit count

03

Wire gauge, colours, lengths, branches and termination details

04

Quantity, application and delivery destination

One RFQ, clearly defined harness items

Quoting several harnesses or variants? Give each item an assembly ID and use it on the drawing, BOM and pinout files. This keeps each configuration and quantity together while we review your requirements and compare factory quotations.

Assembly ID
Your part number or a temporary item code, repeated on the related files.
Connections and routing
Label each end and branch; show pin-to-pin connections, connector viewing direction, finished lengths and branch positions.
Connector and wire option
State original JST/Molex or an alternative for review, plus wire gauge, insulation and protection requirements.
Drawing revision
Identify the current drawing and BOM revisions. Mark provisional details and flag any conflicting information.
Quantity per item
List sample, first-production and forecast quantities separately for each assembly ID.
Changes to review
Say what changed and which earlier files it replaces; identify any changes that need customer sample approval.

Keep the assembly ID, revision and connector option visible in the quotation. Matching these details helps you compare the same scope, not just the price.

Use a worksheet when it helps define the request

These tools are optional. Send the information you already have; a completed workbook is not required for an inquiry.

  • Cable assembly BOM

List the components, references and quantities for one assembly revision. Mark unknown items for review.

  • Connection list

Record each conductor and endpoint with cavity references and viewing direction. Keep unresolved connections visible.

How the project is coordinated

Zeakka is the commercial and sourcing partner between your requirement and suitable factories.

  1. Review the drawing, BOM, pinout or written requirement

  2. Clarify open build, connector and material details

  3. Match suitable factories and compare quotation scope

  4. Coordinate samples and agreed revisions

  5. Coordinate production, inspection, packing and delivery

A real project: clarify the interface before production

For a Canadian GPS/AVL customer, the P4 connector housing in a reference image differed from the BOM. Zeakka raised the discrepancy, and the customer confirmed that the BOM connector was correct. The customer then selected a wiring drawing, confirmed a white wire at Position 1 and approved black heat-shrink tubing.

The initial 20-piece order was shipped after those decisions were agreed. This illustrates how Zeakka coordinates supplier questions and customer approvals; it does not establish equipment validation or a pinout for other projects.

Connector and harness details to confirm

Specify original JST or Molex connectors for the finished assembly, or ask us to review an unbranded compatible alternative. Confirm the selected option and its fit against the project drawing or sample.

  • Connector reference, pitch, circuits, keying and mating interface
  • Pinout, wire gauge, colour, length and branch routing
  • Terminal, seal, sleeve, label and packaging requirements
  • Material, document or compliance requirements to confirm for the project

For defined point-to-point harness requirements

Use this page when connectors, pinout, wire, branches and finished lengths are part of the assembly requirement. MOQ and lead time are project-specific and confirmed in the quotation.

Inspection coordinated for the agreed scope

Every harness receives continuity and short-circuit testing. Pull-force testing is sampled and defined for the project; other checks are confirmed with the project scope.

  • Continuity and short-circuit test for every harness
  • Project-defined sampled pull-force testing
  • Visual, dimensional, packing or document checks when agreed
  • Inspection points and acceptance details confirmed before production

Discrete-wire harness FAQ

Are you the factory?

No. Zeakka is a trading and sourcing partner. We coordinate requirement review, factory matching, quote comparison, samples and production follow-up.

Can you review a request without a drawing?

Yes. Send a BOM, pinout, connector reference, sample, photos or a written description. We will identify the details still needed for a quote.

Can a finished harness use original JST or Molex connectors?

Yes. Original JST or Molex connectors can be sourced as part of a complete cable assembly; they are not sold separately. You can also ask us to review an unbranded compatible alternative, subject to drawing or sample validation.

What testing is included?

Every harness receives continuity and short-circuit testing. Pull-force testing is sampled and defined for the project; other checks are agreed for the project.

What are the MOQ and lead time?

MOQ and lead time depend on the parts, process and confirmed scope. We will confirm both in the quotation for your project.

Send the harness requirement you have

We will review the available information, clarify the scope and coordinate the next project step.
