Information that makes a cable assembly quote usable

A quotation is easier to evaluate when every supplier is working from the same revision, configuration, quantity, and validation scope.

  1. 01

    Drawing and BOM

Include the current revision and mark any dimensions or materials that are still provisional.

  2. 02

    Part and mating references

State the connector, terminal, seal and mating-part references, plus whether original components or an unbranded candidate may be considered.

  3. 03

    Pinout, wire specification, and length

Show pin-to-pin connections, pin 1 orientation, wire gauge or cable construction, finished length, and tolerances.

  4. 04

    Quantity and application

Separate sample quantity, first production quantity, and forecast; describe the equipment and operating environment.

  5. 05

    Required tests and documents

List required electrical, pull-force, visual, environmental, or other checks and any project-specific documents.

  6. 06

    Delivery destination

Provide the destination and requested schedule so packing, freight, and timing assumptions can be stated clearly.

Files accepted by the inquiry form

PDF, DWG, STEP, Excel, JPG, or PNG; 3 MB total, up to 5 files

No finished drawing yet?

You can begin with a written description. The first review will identify what must be confirmed before a comparable quotation or production sample is possible.

  • Connector or mating-part references and clear photos
  • Pinout or a written wire-to-wire connection list
  • Wire type, gauge, length, quantity, and application
  • Fixed requirements versus items open to recommendation

Compare the scope, not only the unit price

Before selecting a quotation, check that these items are treated consistently.

  • 1Exact connector and terminal scope
  • 2Wire, jacket, shield, and material specification
  • 3Finished length and tolerance
  • 4Inspection and test scope
  • 5Tooling or special-material charges
  • 6Sample and production timing assumptions
  • 7Packing, delivery terms, freight, and exclusions

Who confirms what

Your engineering or purchasing team

Approves the final drawing, BOM, pinout, candidate substitutions, validation plan, and equipment-level suitability.

Zeakka

Reviews inputs, flags missing or conflicting details, clarifies quotation scope, and coordinates factory options, samples, and revisions.

Selected factory

Manufactures and tests the confirmed configuration to the agreed project scope and provides the documents agreed for that order.

RFQ checklist questions

Can I request a quote without a drawing?

Yes. Send connector references or photos, pinout, wire specification, length, quantity, and application. We will identify missing details before a firm production quotation.

Can the assembly use original JST or Molex connectors?

Yes. Original connectors can be sourced as part of a complete cable assembly, or you can ask us to review an unbranded compatible candidate. Original connectors are not sold separately.

How long does a detailed quotation take?

It typically takes 1–5 business days after the requirements are clear. Complex materials, tooling, or incomplete specifications can require more clarification.

What testing should I state?

Every cable assembly is checked for continuity and short circuits, while pull testing is sampled. State any additional electrical, mechanical, environmental, or documentation requirement so it can be confirmed for the project.
