China Custom Overmolded Cable Assemblies
Precision-engineered overmolded cable assemblies with integrated strain relief and custom connector options. From prototype to production, we deliver robust solutions with flexible MOQ and rapid turnaround times.
Overmolding Structure Types
Explore different overmolding structure types and their applications
Connector Overmolding
The most common type. Completely encapsulates the connector tail and cable solder/crimp points. Provides strain relief to prevent cable breakage during insertion/removal and achieves high waterproof and dustproof ratings (IP67/IP68).
Y-Split / T-Split Overmolding
When a main trunk cable needs to branch into multiple independent cables, overmolding is applied at the junction. This perfectly protects complex internal solder joints or crimp points from mechanical stress and environmental effects.
Grommets & Stops
Raised features or rubber rings molded into the cable mid-section. Typically used for cable fixation, sealing, and protection when cables pass through device chassis or panels, preventing snagging and edge friction.
PCB/PCBA Integration
Complete overmolding protection of cable bundle nodes with integrated small circuit boards (sensors, chips, LED indicators, etc.).
Overmold Material & Process Options
Material selection directly determines cable bundle performance
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
Cost-effective with adjustable hardness range. The most standard choice for general applications.
TPU / PUR (Polyurethane)
Excellent abrasion and tear resistance. Maintains flexibility at low temperatures, ideal for harsh industrial environments.
TPE / TPR (Thermoplastic Elastomer)
Soft feel similar to rubber. Commonly used in medical devices and high-end consumer electronics.
Silicone
Excellent resistance to extreme high and low temperatures with superior flexibility. Used in premium medical and specialized industrial applications.
Low-Pressure Molding
Uses special polyamide materials at extremely low pressure and temperature. Specifically designed for protecting extremely fragile micro-components, exposed PCB boards, or glass sensors without damage from high-pressure molding.
